Hopefully, he and his fellow soldiers will be walking acros their own yards again SOON!
Here is a soldier stationed in Iraq, stationed in a big sand box. He asked his wife to send him dirt (U.S. soil), fertilizer, and some grass seed so that he can have the sweet aroma, and feel the grass grow beneath his feet When the men of the squadron have a mission that they are going on, they take turns walking through the grass and the American soil -- to bring them good luck.

Happy Monday :/ -- we'll get through the week together :)
From my local parenting corner:
HUG YOUR CHILDREN TODAY :)
I've had some very interesting conversations and e-mail interaction with many of you....I've noticed that many of our listeners are single parents having a difficult time dealing with their ex-spouses when it involves their children...I had an in-depth talk with a friend of mine yesterday and one with another friend the day before that....Some of you have your child(ren) during the week days or during the weekends and some of you take him/her/them during summer & school-vacations, and holidays, versus the rest of the year. The grass isn't really any greener anywhere for most kids...They just want to be loved. From what I've listened to, it seems like so many parents struggle for what they want for their child and what's best for their child...It also seems that their are a lot of parents that are angry with the other parent and (without even realizing it) are working too hard to be right than working toward the best interest of the child(ren).....Please look and see if you're aiming to hurt your ex and instead hurting your child.....Please look carefully...Watch where you aim because if you miss you could hit the one you're most trying to protect..... -- just some thoughts on my observations...

It's a Western hemisphere thing --- FENG SHUI -- I was introduced to this years ago by a friend of mine that does a great deal of energy work.....Now don't start playing the Twilight Zone theme....It really does help create balance in your environment!
Get rid of things that remind you of bad times, things that you don't like but feel you need to have in your space, stuff that has anything to do with exes that were a problem for you, etc. -- Keep only the things that make you feel really good inside. --- Clutter is not good -- So get the trash bags out and clean house...John and I have both done a huge cleansing and it's been great! The entire house seems to come together with more peace with each step we take. And, many benefitted from our FREE sidewalk "sale" -- furniture, mirrors, glassware, etc. -- everything that didn't have our heart in it went! GONE LIKE YESTERDAY Ahhhhhhhhhhhh -- how sweet it is :)
The last house I did this in, I had a professional help me....She advised me to get rid of ALL dried flowers -- silk is okay but not dried -- they represent death and dying, she said (this doesn't apply to some dried arrangements -- more on that another week). She had me remove family heirlooms that I was lackluster or ambiguous about. -- I rearranged furniture, artwork, plants, and even put mirrors in different places that would help the energy flow. Then, I did some MAJOR painting. I recruited friends to help me -- you know who you are and THANKS again :) -- You may think I'm NUTS, but it really helped....In fact, many big hotel chains sit with these people and take advice on how to remodel their hotels...
Here's a little 101:
There are 5 elements in Feng Shui:
Wood (wooden furniture, artwork of landscapes, linens, blue/gree colors, etc.), Fire (lighting, pets and wildlife -- art depicting these things -- the color RED), Earth (bricks, square/rectangle shapes or long flat surfaces, yellow and earth-tones), Metal (all metal things, rocks/stones like marble, granite, etc., crystals -- art made of any of these things -- oval and circle shapes and white or light pastel colors), Water (reflective surfaces like mirrors, cut crustal, glass, asymmetrical shapes, dark colors)
Look around your home or perhaps one room and see if you have a balance of these elements......IF you're still scratching your head, maybe this example of tying these elements together will help: A fish tank -- a glass container, with plants and fish, rocks and sand at the bottom, and water ~ ALL 5 elements are there -- NICE! --- That's not to say, set up a fish tank anywhere or you're now balanced. It's just one example of joining the elements ~
Just think of the colors and shapes (of furniture, countertops, wall colors/textures, fabrics, lighting, decorative pieces, etc.) connected with each element...
Think about it -- maybe even try it and give it a few weeks to sink in -- if you don't feel better about your home -- call me NUTS and move things back where they were :)
